    Comments:

I've had the SpeedTrap in the fork of my Trek Madone 2.3 for well over a year. In the beginning, I had some trouble. The first one I got wouldn't come on and I had to exchange it. There is no indicator if it's "on" or not, so I struggled with trying to detect the sensor with IpBike and the Node device for quite a few hours before I determined it was not user error. I also had to order the adapter to make it compatible with my specific fork, and that part was not in stock so I had to wait a few days for it to be ordered. It does make it stick out a little, but barely - it's really no big deal. I also replaced the magnet that comes with it, because I didn't like the plastic clip one. The clip seemed flimsy like it would break really easy. I prefer the little metal round one that screws down and clamps onto a spoke. Once the SpeedTrap was in and working, I didn't have to think about it again. It worked reliably with every ride. It's been well over a year, and the battery is just now getting low. I love that it's wireless and sits in the recess of my fork rather than wrapping around it. It communicates easily with the Node bike computers, and my Android "IpBike" app. It also allows each cyclist the option to spend a lot on a bike computer, or not a lot, so it's very flexible.

Not compatible with all speed trap forks

        Comments:

This product claims to fit any trek speed trap fork. The small cavity in my 2014 Madone is flat inside, while this sensor has a large battery bulging off the back. You apparently can buy yet another accessory to adapt to this issue but bontrager does not make this well known. The point of the speed trap is to be aerodynamic but adding the adapter is a clunky solution- I am returning this product. Disappointed that trek/bontrager didn't communicate on this fork solution and that my trek bike shop wasn't aware of it either.

          Comments:

I'm frankly shocked at Trek/Bontrager - they promote the integrated Speedtrap sensor when selling their bikes and then sell you a sensor (Part No 403683) that doesn't include a magnet which according to the Trek website costs the same as the sensor with a magnet (Part No 426619). There is no hint on the box that you are buying a sensor without a magnet, the only way to find this out is extensive research on their website. What you won't find on their website or in the box or anywhere else is an owners manual or any other hint as to how to install the Speedtrap sensor.
